Warrant – Cherry Pie and Alice in Chains – Man in the Box

To get us started, here are two videos from the two bands I mentioned in the previous post. It’s somewhat of a new meets old approach. First, I’m sure when Warrant looks back on the song, Cherry Pie, it’s bittersweet. It was one of their biggest commercial hits, and the video was played relentlessly due largely in part because the video featured lead singer, Jani Lane’s, future wife, Bobbie Brown. However, it was essentially their swan song. Everything went down hill for them from here. But, this video is definitely a great video to watch.

Now, it’s time for Alice in Chains, Man in the Box. Talk about a different sound… The guitar sequence at the beginning of this song is classic. This was the band’s first major hit, and when it fell into regular rotation on MTV, many hair bands started finding their videos being played less and less. It’s still my favorite Alice in Chains song. Enjoy!
