Mother Love Bone – Chloe Dancer – Crown of Thorns

This video isn’t actually a video by Mother Love Bone, but rather by Pearl Jam. I originally found a video for the song by MLB, but it’s since been taken down from YouTube, and I can’t find another one anywhere. Pearl Jam does a great job on the song though.

This song is off Mother Love Bone’s only full-length album, Apple, which was originally released posthumously in 1990 following the death of frontman Andrew Wood. This is a great song, and MLB would have been a great band had Andrew been able to kick his drug habit. As it is, it’s the only album they ever released. It’s a great one though. This song was also featured in the 1992 movie Singles starring Bridget Fonda, Matt Dillon and Kyra Sedgwick.

Two of the remaining members of Mother Love Bone, Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament, went on to form the Andrew Wood tribute band Temple of the Dog with Chris Cornell of Soundgarden fame. Later, Stone and Jeff formed Pearl Jam and the rest is rock n’ roll history.

Enjoy the video!
