1991 was grunge rock’s coming out year. In addition to Nirvana, Pearl Jam exploded onto the scene in 1991. Alive by Pearl Jam is one of the best rock songs of all-time. I was a junior in college when Ten by Pearl Jam came out and this CD stayed in my CD player that entire year. This song never gets old. Enjoy!

While I am a big fan of 80’s music, I have to admit that I loved this song when it came out in 1991. Too many rock bands were sounding exactly the same. In the early 90’s, it was really hard to tell the difference between Poison, RATT, Warrant, Slaughter, Skid Row and the like. Creatively, they just fell into a lull, and the new grunge sound took over. No one embodied the new sound more than Nirvana. This song went to #1 all around the world except for the U.S. It peaked at #6 on the Hot 100 charts. Enjoy!
