Sonic Youth – Sunday

Posted in 1998 Songs, Alternative Rock, Sonic Youth on October 11, 2008 by pelicancup

Sunday was the first and only single Sonic Youth released from their 1998 album A Thousand Leaves. The video is pretty strange as it features Macaulay Culkin and Rachel Miner in both fast and slow motion scenes as well as mixed scenes of a ballerina. It’s definitely not your typcial punk rock band video. Enjoy!

Pearl Jam – Given To Fly (Live)

Posted in #1 Mainstream Rock Charts, 1998 Songs, Grunge Rock, Hard Rock, Pearl Jam on October 8, 2008 by pelicancup

Given To Fly was a #1 hit for six weeks on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts for Pearl Jam in 1998. It also went to #3 on the Billboard Modern Rock charts and #21 on the Hot 100 charts. This is a cool video of the band performing the song live at a concert in St. Louis. Eddie is enchanted by a girl who is on stage signing everything he sings. Enjoy!

Marilyn Manson – Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)

Posted in 1995 Songs, Heavy Metal, Marilyn Manson on October 7, 2008 by pelicancup

Marilyn Manson’s first charting single in the U.S. was his 1995 cover of the Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This). In true Marilyn Manson style, the video for this song was very bizarre and strange. But, it was his bizarre and strange image that catapulted him into the spotlight. Enjoy!
