Nirvana’s fourth single from their debut album Nevermind was called In Bloom. They actually shot a video for the song back in 1990 before the album was released, and that’s the first version below. The second video was their official video released for the song. It won the “Best Alternative Video” award at the 1993 MTV Video Music Awards. Enjoy!

Nirvana – Smells Like Teen Spirit

Ahh, welcome to the song and band that ultimately spelled the end to the 80’s hair band era. While I am a big fan of 80’s music, I have to admit that I loved this song when it came out in 1991. Too many rock bands were sounding exactly the same. In the early 90’s, it was really hard to tell the difference between Poison, RATT, Warrant, Slaughter, Skid Row and the like. Creatively, they just fell into a lull, and the new grunge sound took over. No one embodied the new sound more than Nirvana. This song went to #1 all around the world except for the U.S. It peaked at #6 on the Hot 100 charts. Enjoy!
