Gone Away is my favorite song by The Offspring. In 1997, it became their first #1 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. It also peaked at #4 on the Modern Rock charts. The song is about the grieving process after the death of someone you love, and countless fans have expressed gratitude to the band for helping them get through a tough time by listening to the song.
