Giant – I’ll See You In My Dreams

Giant was a hair band that was a little too late to the party. Had they started about five years before, they might have had a much more lucrative career. Unfortunately, they released their first album, Last of the Runaways in 1989, which of course was one of the last full years of hair band popularity. However, they did score a decent hit with their 1990 single, I’ll See You In My Dreams, which peaked at #20 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and #7 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. Because this was their only hit on the Hot 100 charts, they’re considered a one-hit wonder. Enjoy!

Aerosmith – I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing – #1 Billboard Hot 100 Song From 1998

In 1998, Aerosmith scored their first and only #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing, which was recorded for the soundtrack to the movie Armageddon. Firehouse – Love Of A Lifetime

Firehouse’s biggest hit was their 1991 glam rock ballad called Love Of A Lifetime. They came on to the scene just as grunge was taking over, so they weren’t able to enjoy their success for very long, but this song is on about every “love songs” CD out there, so they’re not hurting. Enjoy!

Scorpions – Wind of Change

Wind of Change was a power ballad by the German rock band the Scorpions. It peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in 1991. The song refers to the changes happening in Eastern Europe during the early 90’s like the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. It’s one of my favorite rock ballads of the 90’s. Guns N’ Roses – November Rain

November Rain by Guns N’ Roses is one of my favorite songs by the band. It’s also a great video featuring Axl’s then-girlfriend, Stephanie Seymour. It’s one of the most expensive music videos ever made coming in at over $1.5 million and it won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Cinematography. It’s from their 1991 album, Use Your Illusion I. Ozzy Osbourne – Mama I’m Coming Home

In 1991, a skinnier Ozzy Osbourne released his album, No More Tears. One of the biggest hits off this album and one of his biggest commercial successes was this song, Mama I’m Coming Home. It’s rumored that the song is about his wife Sharon whom he calls “Mama”. The song was co-written by Lemmy, frontman for Motorhead. Enjoy!
