Back in 1999, Scar Tissue went to #1 on both the Billboard Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock charts, and it peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Given To Fly was a #1 hit for six weeks on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts for Pearl Jam in 1998. It also went to #3 on the Billboard Modern Rock charts and #21 on the Hot 100 charts. This is a cool video of the band performing the song live at a concert in St. Louis. Eddie is enchanted by a girl who is on stage signing everything he sings. Enjoy!

Marilyn Manson – Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)

Posted in 1995 Songs, Heavy Metal, Marilyn Manson on October 7, 2008 by pelicancup

Marilyn Manson’s first charting single in the U.S. was his 1995 cover of the Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This). In true Marilyn Manson style, the video for this song was very bizarre and strange. But, it was his bizarre and strange image that catapulted him into the spotlight. Enjoy!

Iron Maiden – Bring Your Daughter….To The Slaughter

Posted in 1990, British Bands, Heavy Metal, Iron Maiden on August 9, 2008 by pelicancup

Today we’re going to get a little bit heavier than we’ve been in the last few weeks. Back in 1990, Iron Maiden released Bring Your Daughter…To The Slaughter as a single. The song was originally recorded and released by lead singer Bruce Dickinson on the soundtrack album to the movie A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child. To-date, this is Iron Maiden’s only #1 single on the GBR charts. Enjoy!
